TOOTING FAMILY GARDEN
Once an empty canvas, the large garden in Tooting has undergone a remarkable transformation. Dividing the space into three distinct areas—the main terrace, the lawn area, and the lounge seating area adjacent to a hidden car park space—has maximized its potential, inviting exploration and igniting a sense of adventure. A harmonious palette of materials and colors, featuring grey paving slabs, polished concrete, and painted fencing, provides the backdrop for a captivating display of natural timber furniture and lush planting. Setting the stage for culinary delights and al fresco dining, the main terrace boasts a bespoke outdoor kitchen, complete with a gas barbecue and sink. A bespoke dining table with a polished concrete top takes center stage, surrounded by comfortable wooden chairs. Embracing relaxation, two hanging egg chairs invite you to unwind sitting to the right side of the terrace. Enhancing this space's charm, a thoughtfully designed pergola adds a three-dimensional touch, framing two entrances that lead to the rest of the garden. Nestled between the entrances, a planting bed with evergreen hedging shows elegance and provides a backdrop by the dining table. Above the dining table, three wicker lamps gracefully illuminate, transforming the area into a true outdoor room. The natural lawn area adds a gentle touch to the garden, exuding softness and tranquility and a delicate gravel path ensures seamless access to the seating area at the garden's end. Carpinus espalier trees, planted along the left side, provide height and screening, while carefully chosen herbaceous plants, including lavenders and hydrangeas, grace the planting beds, infusing the space with vibrant colors and seasonal change. Tucked away in the right back corner sits the lounge seating area with its irresistible charm and allure. Concealed by lush plantings and trees, this secluded oasis rests on a different level, where light wooden timber decking provides a change of material. A magnificent Amelanchier tree takes center stage within the decking, flanked by expansive lounge sofas on either side and a bespoke fire table in the heart of it all. This idyllic space is perfect for relaxation, sun-soaked lounging, and evening gatherings. Separating this area, an evergreen hedge defines a space for parking or children's play, while a small storage shed with a living green roof finds its place nearby. In this design, lighting plays a vital role, adding dimension and drama to the garden. Its magical touch extends the garden's lifespan, creating an atmospheric space and an outdoor room that captivates long after nightfall.
